Removing background from the photo on regular basis is in fact the most tedious job for a studio owner. You need to know the proper way of handling pen tool else there will be a sheer time waste in extracting image from its background.

In this tutorial, know how to create path around the photo and how to apply clipping path on it. Follow the steps below to apply it on your images and extracting background from its image.

A. Open Adobe Photoshop -> File -> Open -> Select Image file (for background removal) -> "Open".

B. Get the Tool box, Layer palette & Path palette displayed on your screen. Or you can select the palettes from window menu and "Pen Tool" from the tool box of Adobe Photoshop. Further choose "Paths" from the pen tool properties box, displayed just under the main Menu bar.

C. Draw an anchor point by clicking on the edge of the image, drag the mouse pointer to the next point, and release the mouse. Now continue in the same way after a measured distance, and complete the path around your image and stop in the "O" symbol, which signifies the closure of your hand drawn path.

D. Once the path is completed check that again if there is any inaccurate portion. To save the path, go to "Path Palette", double click on the "work path" and heat Ok. Now the path is saved and you are almost done.

E. Now select "Clipping Path" from the Paths palette of "pop up" menu. Select "Path 1" and give a desired value to flatness in the dialogue box as asked and click "OK".

Note that the higher the numeric value of Flatness, the more blur the edge of your image will appear. So it is suggested to leave the Flatness box blank (0).

F. Save your file in PSD or TIFF format. Use this image anywhere you wish.

Are you searching for providers to clip your images?
